Parting comments to President Bush Dear Mr. Bush:
Thank you for executing the duties of the president with grace and dignity. You have kept America safe. When doubt cast fear over us all, you guided us through the darkest of hours. Some of us have not forgotten that day. More importantly, some of us have not forgotten your steady, unwavering faith in America. We are grateful you stayed the course in the face of an enemy seeking to slaughter the innocent and defenseless.
Despite recent downturns in the economy, America has enjoyed many years of prosperity during your presidency. Rising above partisanship, you refrained from deflecting blame when it would have been easy to do so. In typical fashion, you demonstrated the highest degree of statesmanship.
Our nation is grateful because you put America's interests above your own. Your loyalty, your faith, never failed, even when your countrymen and women maligned for political expidency. As commander-in-chief, you refused to surrender the battle in our darkest hours ensuring the blood shed for liberty's cause was not in vain. Above all sir, you did not bow to liberty's sworn enemy at your own personal political detriment.
Sir, we are a grateful. On that dreadful day which shook the very foundations of liberty, it was unequivocally clear God raised you up to lead this Nation. May history pentrate the bitter partisans and judge you for preserving those inalieanable rights: life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
May God bless you.
